Project managers possess many admirable traits that enable them to successfully communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders. These five traits are just some that can be applied to other leadership roles. 

When most leaders think about communication, there may be a tendency to only factor in how well they communicate with others, but there's much more to clear and effective communication. Being present and visible, actively listening, and being authentic are equally important. Why is clear communication so important? Clear communication involves frequency, being direct, being respectful, listening, allowing others to have a say, using examples, and leading by example, which all help to put people at ease and allows them to do their work with confidence. To complete projects within scope requires project leadership that incorporates all of these elements. Bagley, Mukai Named Interim UW College of Engineering and Applied Science Associate Deans

David Bagley and David Mukai have been named interim associate deans in the University of Wyoming’s College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Bagley is interim associate dean for graduate education and research, and Mukai will be the interim associate dean for undergraduate education.

Bagley will join the college’s leadership team and lead in key areas to support graduate education and research endeavors. He replaces Paul Dellenback, who will retire at the end of the academic year. Dellenback has been with UW since 1990 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, where he eventually rose to become the department head.

Remote work might make commuting easier, but it makes communicating harder. 

Just asked Jerry Low, a Vancouver-based full-stack engineer for Toronto software studio Myplanet. For Low, remote work was no problem — he’d been collaborating with the same coworkers for years — but large company meetings were a pain.
