The virtual 2020 Delaware Networking Station is coming Sept. 17

With most of the bigger, costlier business conferences slated for this summer and fall canceled, it’s a good time to take advantage of smaller, local, less costly virtual cons like the the 2020 Delaware Networking Station, aka DSCC (Delaware State Chamber of Commerce) & BBB (Better Business Bureau) Virtual Networking Conference.

The Thursday, Sept. 17, conference starts at 9 a.m. on the DSCC app with speed networking, followed by a day of workshops, a quick pitch competition and, of course, more networking. The main focus this year is remote work, from hiring virtually to protecting workers online.

The day includes these workshops, with provided descriptions:

Online Reviews: What you can, can’t, and should NEVER say when responding! — Featuring legal and industry experts Molly computer science vs computer programming of Clark Hill and Lyle Wedell of Horizon Services, this panel will focus on how to get more reviews for your business, and how to effectively (but carefully) respond to them. (10 a.m.)

Successful Online Sales & Marketing Strategies (for when you can’t meet face-to-face) — Joseph V. Giordano of Whisman Giordano & Associates and Clara Mattucci of GillespieHall talk remote sales and online marketing. Learn what you can be doing to close more deals, even in the face of Zoom fatigue.

Hiring in a Virtual World: What Could Go Wrong? — Join Maria Clyde of B&H Insurance and Patrick Best of WSFS Bank for a discussion on Delaware’s economic recovery, and the challenges of remote hiring when some or all of your workforce is still remote. Learn some techniques to make an online interview a success, how to protect your business from being impersonated, and what the red flags are for a job seeker.
